This pretty, ground-floor property, one of a secluded group of holiday lets, is perfectly placed for exploring the unspoiled local landscape and glorious North Cornwall coast. A village store at St Tudy, traditional pub at St Breward and cafe are within a mile and the barn is on the edge of Bodmin Moor, a designated Dark Sky area. Walk or cycle down the Camel Trail (1 mile), a winding former railway line that runs 18 miles to the fishing town of Padstow through quiet countryside. Jingles has been recognised by We Are Cycling UK as a Cycle Friendly Place and is even part of a Strava segment! St Breward’s historic church is on the doorstep and photogenic Blisland (3.5 miles) has a village green and pub renowned for its range of local ales. For sea and sand, head to picturesque Port Isaac (9 miles). The fishing village, seen in the popular TV series Doc Martin, has great places to eat and wonderful clifftop walks. Trebarwith Strand (8.5 miles), popular with surfers, has a large sandy beach and lifeguards on patrol in summer.

Both the airy open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen and lovely bedroom have uninterrupted views across the countryside. The lounge is a charming space with beams overhead and lovely furnishings. There’s a Smart TV, DVD player, and Bluetooth speaker, and comfortable seating for relaxing in front of the wood burner. A handy tide clock helps beachgoers plan their trip. The king-size bedroom has a TV, clock radio charging dock and Hypnos mattress designed to promote good sleep. A sleek bathroom has a rain shower over the bath and WC.

Outside is a front patio with a table and chairs, and another at the rear.

Here's an improved version of your review: Our stay at Jingles Cottage, Penrose Burden, exceeded all expectations. It was a wonderfully peaceful and restorative retreat, offering stunning views and excellent facilities. Just a 22-minute drive took us to one of the most beautiful bays we've ever seen. We enjoyed delicious roast dinners at The OldRead more Inn and lovely lunches at The Port William. We absolutely loved it and will most definitely be returning! Hide

The cottage is in a beautiful setting, a perfect base to explore what Cornwall has to offer. The decor and amenities are all of a high standard. The enclosed garden is particularly great if you are bringing a dog.

Jingles is a lovely little cottage with a secure garden (we have a Vizsla so quite a large dog) and is very pet friendly. The hosts Ian and Jane are very helpful and gave us excellent advice on things to do. You're only half an hour (ish) from Port Isaac yet the cottage is nestled in the countryside with amazing views. The cottage had everything Read morewe needed and more. We couldn't recommend it highly enough. Hide

Stunning views, beautiful home, I would change the sofa, it was a little too small. The walk to the pub said 1 mile, no mention of the very steep gradient. It was more like 2 miles. All said we have enjoyed the week.
