This romantic hideaway for two, boasting original floorboards, beams and feature barn windows, is 1.5 miles from Staithes. The coastal town is famed as having been home to Navy captain and explorer Captain James Cook, its cobbled streets containing fascinating alleys, shops and galleries to peruse. As the property is situated between Easington Beck and Roxby Beck and surrounded by the rolling countryside of the North York Moors National Park, it has an abundance of beautiful walking and cycling trails close by.
The cottage’s hallway opens onto a living area with a tiled floor, leather sofas, a dining table and a contemporary wood burner, making it a great place to eat and relax together. Also on the ground floor are a bathroom and kitchen, both with granite worktops. A gallery-style double bedroom occupies the first floor, overlooking the living room through a wooden balustrade. Guests staying here have access to a games room in the estate owners’ country house; this is shared with three other cottages on site.
Outside, there’s a small private patio with a wrought iron table and chairs for al fresco drinks, as well as optional access to the owners’ 4-acre paddock.
