One of a group of three characterful huts, this cheery getaway makes a light and airy retreat for couples discovering the breathtaking countryside, magnificent mountains and historic sites at the heart of Mid Wales. Ideally located for exploring the north-eastern corner of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the hut sits in a quiet and secluded spot just 150 metres from the site of the medieval Castell Bronllys. The friendly village of Bronllys (0.5 miles) has a pub, shop and cafe, and the nearby market town of Talgarth (1 mile) is home to the bustling Talgarth Mill. Other local landmarks include Tretower Castle, Llangorse Lake, The Begwyns and the nature reserves at Pwll y Wrach and Brechfa Pool, all within 10 miles. Brecon lies to the west along the River Usk (8 miles), famous for its Gothic cathedral. Hay-on-Wye (7.5 miles) is known for its fantastic variety of second-hand bookshops.
Four steps lead up and into this traditional hut, with a curved ceiling, polished wooden flooring and underfloor heating. The main living area is divided into two sections: the welcoming first section has a central wood burner, alongside a couple of chairs and a dining table, perfect for enjoying romantic meals together. The kitchen area to the side has ample equipment and storage space. Screened off from this space is the bedroom area, with a sumptuous king-size bed and a Smart TV. At the foot of the bed, there’s a quaint twin copper bath which sits in front of the French doors looking out towards the countryside. The property also features a stylishly decorated shower room.
Two sets of steps lead back out into the surrounding garden area. The private patio has a firepit/BBQ and plenty of outdoor furniture, offering a wonderfully relaxing space for you both to settle back and soak up the sun. There’s also a useful outdoor shower. Off-road parking is available for two cars.
