One of a small group of glamping pods set within the Old Rectory’s former paddock, this bijou bolthole is less than 200 metres from the Bowness-on-Solway shoreline. Complete with a welcoming pub, café and tea room, the village sits at the western end of the world-famous Hadrian’s Wall Path and Hadrian's Cycleway. Enjoy expansive vistas across the water and into Scotland as you walk, or explore the nearby nature reserves which are home to a wealth of birds and wildlife – the Solway Coast National Landscape is a haven of peace beneath beautiful big skies. Drive 16 miles cross-country to the Victorian seaside town of Silloth for a great selection of independent shops and eateries, or 21 miles to Gretna Green – synonymous with weddings at its famous Blacksmith’s Forge. En route, Carlisle (14 miles) is Cumbria’s capital city. Packed with places to eat and drink, a vibrant selection of shops and historic sites, it is also the terminus for the renowned Settle-Carlisle Railway. Enjoy peaceful, quality time as a couple in this welcoming and restful holiday retreat.
Chic, stylish and specially designed for all-season comfort, it features a contemporary open-plan layout with good head height and a flow of natural light from the French doors at one end. Natural wood tones create a calming ambience. Discuss your day as you prepare dinner, clear the table to pore over maps and plan your next adventure, then snuggle up on the sofa to watch TV – all the important must-haves of home are here. When it’s time to sleep, the double bed and shower room are conveniently close. Each property’s living space extends onto a furnished decking area, while an eco-friendly Kirami hot tub direct from Finland adds a whole extra level of luxury to your leisure time.
Additional outdoor space, laid to lawn, is shared by all five pods on site.
