Hidden from view along a traffic-free lane just off the harbour, this quirky cottage offers great space in a central location. Mevagissey is a picturesque fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall and is known for its narrow streets, colourful buildings and a historic harbour from which you can catch a ferry to Fowey making for a lovely trip out. The South West Coast Path runs through the village and offers stunning views of the coastline. Walk to Portmellon Beach (1 mile) then on to Chapel Point and Colonna Beach, a favourite with the seals. Other popular activities in the area include fishing, boating and hiking. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just 2.5 miles away by car or a 45-minute walk through a wooded valley and the Eden Project is 9.5 miles. Local beaches nearby include Polstreath Beach (1 mile), Pentewan Sands (3 miles) and Gorran Haven (3.5 miles).

Make your way up the set of stone steps and arrive at the entrance door. Step inside to a charming dining/snug room adorned with a warming wood burner. This space serves a dual purpose, providing an ideal setting for mealtimes as well as offering the opportunity to relax and unwind with a book on the comfortable sofa by the fire. Adjacent to this room is the kitchen, fully equipped with all the essential amenities needed to prepare a tasty home-cooked meal, although the abundance of local restaurants in the vicinity may prove tempting. As you ascend the stairs you will be greeted by a spacious living room, complete with an additional sofa and footrest, perfect for a leisurely TV-watching session. The room features unique artwork, painted floorboards and bespoke decor, reflecting the colours and atmosphere of the surrounding coastline. A short flight of three steps will take you to the bathroom, and towards the rear of the cottage is a welcoming double bedroom, providing an inviting space to rest and recharge.

Step out of the back door from the bedroom and climb the steps to the elevated terrace where you can relish a peaceful dinner for two listening to the tranquil sounds of the coastal surroundings. There’s also an additional seating area in the enclosed courtyard at the front of the cottage, which is shared with the neighbouring property. We parked to unload on short stay carpark by the church and then parked the car for a week at Willow carpark 35 for the week. It was literally a 5 minute walk to the cottage from the church short stay ( more if the Fountain Inn is open .easy to side track) The cottage is a few doors up from the pub on the left. Access via a few steps and through tRead morehe gate. Enter into a lovely little welcoming room. Small kitchen to the right which has everything you need for self catering. Spotlessly clean and overlooking a courtyard. This room has a dining table and log burner which we used and it warmed the cottage beautifully. Radiators in every room but we were lucky with the weather and only needed them later on in the evening. Up the narrow staircase is the living room. Again warm and welcoming and leading to the bathroom and bedroom. There is a door from the bedroom leading to a roof garden. No sea or harbour views but a lovely view over the rooftops at the village. Seating is up there too. The cottage is basically a lovely place to stay. It is central to the village and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We would absolutely return if there is availability as we love Mevagissey and this cottage is absolutely perfect. We spent the first week of November at the cottage and were fortunate to have a mild and dry week. I really wanted to light the log burner but the cottage wasnt cold enough, even without the heating on!! The cottage is very clean and cosy and the amenities are excellent. The stairs to the living room are very steep - I twisted my ankle the day befoRead morere we came away and found them quite challenging but the chrome bannisters were a godsend. The cottage is in a fantastic location close to everything Mevagissey has to offer. There are plenty of places to eat out at a reasonable cost and lots of places to explore slightly further afield. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are worth a visit and cost half the price of the Eden Project. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay. Hide

Delightful cottage close to the harbour. Need to have good knees for the steps and stairs. If you like coffee, take your own cafetiere. Electric Shower is ok, the bath would be good if there was sufficient hot water.

A lovely cosy cottage in a very central part of Mevagissey. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had all the standard equipment you would need, including dishwasher, hairdryer etc. We were very lucky with the weather so used the rooftop garden which was a lovely and peaceful place to read a book/have a glass of wine. Great little cottage. Cosy, comfy and homely! Comfy bed! Dog friendly! Amazing location.. right in the middle of the village, but very quiet. This welcoming, cosy cottage is a peaceful haven, quite literally a few steps away from the centre of Mevagissey and everything it has to offer. The property has everything you need (and more) to enjoy the perfect holiday. We will definitely be returning - thank you so much!

Property was in a great location and we loved the picturesque little village of Mevagissey, which had a good few lovely eateries for it's size and is ideal for visiting other parts of Cornwall. The cottage was nicely decorated and well equipped. The stairs both outside and inside are very steep, so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. AltRead morehough the outside terrace is lovely, the seagulls were pretty territorial and noisy. Other guests should definitely bring earplugs, as you will hear the seagulls a lot during the night/early hours! Hide

The cleanliness of the property needs to be improved around the toilet, and seating areas. The bed was way too soft. Communication was good and accurate.
