Property code: OC-566401

Located in Smuggler’s Cove, in the heart of Beadnell on the Northumberland Coast, sits this charming mews-style property. It’s the ideal retreat for a couple or a small family looking for a relaxing seaside break. Beadnell village has an 18th-century harbour and a small selection of pubs and cafes. From the property, it’s 0.8 miles to Beadnell Bay Beach – a water lover’s paradise - where you can spend the day kayaking, windsurfing, or wakeboarding. Walkers can also enjoy the coastal paths and excellent routes including the 2-mile walk to neighbouring Seahouses which is a vibrant village where you can catch a boat from the harbour to the Farne Islands or browse the independent shops and grab a bite to eat. Otherwise, why not take a 5-mile hike to Newton-by-the-Sea. Here, you can visit the freshwater nature reserve and observe the migrating birds.

Enter this property and find yourself in the hallway which leads to the spacious lounge - a relaxing space with floor-to-ceiling windows that drench the room in light. It is the perfect spot to unwind with its plump corner sofa and huge patio doors that overlook the charming courtyard. Back through the hallway and into the neat kitchen with seaside artefacts on the walls where you’ll find every appliance you’ll need to prepare delicious meals that can be served at the bistro table with seating for four people. There’s also a handy WC on this floor. In the hallway, stairs lead up to the first floor where the two, very welcoming bedrooms are located. Featuring a king-size bed and double bed, the rooms are light and airy with white plantation shutters, pendant lighting, and blue and sandy tones adding to the serene atmosphere. There’s also a good-sized family bathroom on this floor with bath and shower over.

Back on the ground floor, the lounge patio doors lead out to a small, enclosed courtyard. It’s the perfect spot for an al fresco meal, morning coffee, or just relaxing on the garden furniture and breathing in the sea air.

Can't really fault anything. We have stayed with Coastal Retreats several times before. But not in last couple of years. Felt welcome pack wasn't so good, ie no bread and butter.

This is a beautiful, comfortable, well equipped house in a lovely little village not too far from the beach. We would certainly consider staying here again. It is also a beautiful area to explore.

We are very happy with the cottage (this is our third visit to same accommodation). However we had a few problems on this occasion (1) when we arrived the loft hatch cover was lying on the landing with a black plastic bag on top of it . (Since my husband is 81 not easy for him to sort out but we saw some cleaning staff in the vicinity and they caRead moreme in to sort that) (2) the instructions for accessing the wifi (detailed in the folder) were incorrect - (both the name of the router and the password were incorrect . We think the folder information needs updating but this may be in hand. 3) In the evening the TV switched on BUT there was no signal on any of the inputs - hence no Friday TV viewing for us! This wasn't sorted until maintenance staff came the following day to sort things out for us 4) on this occasion there was no welcome pack at all - not even milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Could be a problem for late arrivals as the local shop closes at 5.30 pm We did however query this on the Saturday morning (by phone to the office) and all the above issues were sorted out including provision of a lovely welcome pack (thank you very much to the owner who I believe provided this) Hide

Whilst Beadnell is a lovely village and the cottage very nice but it is situated next to tall trees with nesting crows. These are incredibly noisy from Dawn till Dusk making sleep after 4am very difficult. Although we kept our windows shut the double glazing did little to quieten the noise. During the nesting season perhaps you could point this ouRead moret to prospective customers Hide

Weve had little reason to contact your staff outside of the booking process (because everything tends to be fine). This time there was no welcome pack, I telephoned this in at 16:15 on the day of arrival and by 17:00 someone turned up with the pack. We didnt expect this, especially as it was a bank holiday. Not only that, the person who brought theRead more pack was courteous and pleasant and asked whether there were any other issues (there werent). Weve always been impressed with the standard of the properties weve stayed in and of the professionalism of the Original Cottages organisation and staff. Thank you very much. Hide
