Escape to the Suffolk countryside with the one you love, selecting this delightful couple’s retreat that enjoys a quintessential village setting in Trimley St Martin, a setting seemingly lost in time. Despite your quiet location, you’ll be just 3.5 miles from Felixstowe. This Edwardian Resort town is famed for its array of attractions including beaches, a historic pier, and lots of traditional seaside amusements. Whether you envisage meandering walks along the River Orwell or leisurely evenings tucking into fish and chips on Felixstowe’s beautiful beaches, you’ll find plenty to surprise and delight just a short drive from your doorstep. A 5-mile drive will reward you with Trimley Marshes Nature Reserve, which is a haven for bird watching.

Step inside to find your open-plan living space, a setting characterised by neutral decor, wooden flooring and natural light flooding in through the windows and skylight. Sophisticated yet cosy throughout, the interior has been cleverly zoned for relaxing, cooking and dining. You’ll find the sofas irresistible for relaxing, especially when you light the wood burner on chilly nights. There’s a kitchen area for preparing lavish meals a deux, and a dining table with seating for four should you wish to host supper with friends. Switch on the TV and watch a film together, or prepare hot cocoa and unwind in the snug with your favourite book. Weary from an eventful day, retreat to your bedroom and enjoy a restful night’s sleep in the king-size bed. Completing the property is a handy en-suite that’s equipped with a shower and WC.

Your accommodation overlooks the spectacular open countryside, offering marvellous sunset views and glimpses of elusive deer. It’s a sight to behold from the comfort of the decked terrace. This space is for your exclusive use, overlooking the owner’s garden space yet enclosed for privacy. You’ll have a BBQ for dining alfresco, perfect for warm evenings.

This cottage is probably better than the photos project. There's been excellent thought to every detail of comfort and ease of use. It provides every need and a little more. Loved the additional lounge room and the outside terrace. The shower was superb and easy to use, the bedroom was comfortable with really good storage. The cooker was user frienRead moredly (helped by the fact it's the same as ours!). The extensive garden provides a nice area to wander. Nearby there's a friendly Hand in Hand pub serving excellent beer, the Sausage Shop further on has amazing pies and the other pub The Mariners provided us with a lovely meal on the first night. We didn't make best use of the immediate area and had fabulous days at Southwold, Adleburgh and Framingham. Hide
