This charming ground-floor flat in a quiet part of Southwold sleeps two – either together or separately – making it a perfect retreat for couples or friends. Explore the historic town, stock up on supplies, visit art galleries, independent shops and maybe its museum for background information. Tour the Adnams Brewery, or make do with a mooch about their shop and a pint or two over a meal in one of the local pubs. Tick the lighthouse, RNLI station, pier, and promenade with beach huts off your ‘must see’ list too! Take a dip in the sea if you dare or walk along the shingle beach for miles. Venture towards the river and harbour for a slightly more rustic end of town with shacks selling fish and seafood on certain days. Order some fish and chips to eat on the Common or sand dunes or take stuff back to enjoy a leisurely seafood supper in your holiday home away from home.
After entering a small hallway with modern storage for coats and shoes, the L-shaped living area is open plan, with the main sitting room offering sumptuous seating, arranged around an ornamental red brick fireplace. Behind this is another sitting area with a daybed that can be turned into a bed if friends are sharing this one-bed property or to accommodate a child over 12. (Please enquire before booking) Equally, however, you can just enjoy some quiet time reading or napping. It’s light and airy, roomy and the decor exudes a welcoming and cosy atmosphere. If you want to self-cater, the kitchen’s a dream with contemporary units, lovely wooden work surfaces and all mod cons making cooking a pleasure, not a chore. Tuck in at the rustic wooden table with bench seat and two chairs. The generous master bedroom has a big bay window, lovely ornamental fireplace, plus comfortable bed and armchair to ensure you sleep in style.
From the sitting room, a door gives access to the wonderfully private courtyard garden space. It’s paved but fully enclosed, with garden furniture and a BBQ.
