Travel towards The World of Beatrix Potter (0.25 miles) to discover interactive exhibits about Potter's writings and life. Enjoy a trip across the lake by ferry to the National Trust property of Hill Top, Potter's rural farmhouse still filled with her very own furnishings (3 miles). Slightly further afield, is the picture postcard village of Grasmere (9.5 miles) where you will find the famous Dove Cottage and The Wordsworth Museum, perfect for literary lovers to explore how the famous poet once lived, and where many of his works were written, with the country garden he planted himself with his sister Dorothy surrounding.

We loved this little cottage in a fantastic location, everything you need. The only thing that let our holiday down was a young family stayed above us so we had an early awakening every morning and they did a lot of running around on the wooden floor .
