This charming home is set in the popular Lakeland village of Cartmel in the south of the picturesque Lake District. Cartmel itself is a hub for foodies, but there is so much more to experience in this wonderful location, including a Michelin-star restaurant, local boutique shops, and an amazing day out at the racecourse. If that isn’t enough, the amazing Lake Windemere is a short 8-mile drive away. Explore the many well-known towns and villages on its shores either by car, or why not take the lake cruise from Lakeside and head up to Bowness, Windermere, or Ambleside? Alternatively, hire your own lake transport and head out to explore the wonderful scenery on offer.

As you enter through the front door, you will find a home away from home at this rustic property which retains a lot of its classic features including exposed beams and walls. A cosy lounge awaits you with comfortable sofas surrounding a wood burner and TV – perfect for a night spent watching a movie. At the rear of the room, designed to a high standard, is a well equipped kitchen which has everything you need to cook a perfect meal at the end of a long day.  The area also has a handy breakfast bar with two stools. On the first floor is the beautiful double bedroom which offers views over the lovely priory and village as well as a wonderful shower room.

Lovely compact dog friendly cottage with plenty space for two, well equipped and fitted out. Welcome pack superb and appreciated. Situated in a lovely village with independent shops, pubs and cafes. The pub next door does a wonderful Sunday lunch and the cafe over the road was perfect to pick up breakfast sandwiches. Car parking was close to the coRead morettage. A really lovely snug cottage which was just perfect for the two of us, and in a wonderful location too. A generous welcome pack in the kitchen was much appreciated. Worth noting that the stairs are quite tricky so might be a problem if mobility is restricted.

We had a great stay in The Snug. It was cosy, clean, well-equipped and the patio was great for a drink in the afternoon/evening sun. The communication with the owner went smoothly. If we'e ever in the neighbourhood again, we would stay here again.

Very convenient little cottage. Lovely to light the wood burner, on a cold evening. Cartmel is an excellent base for the South Lakes.

We loved our week at The Snug. A cosy spot to relax after lots of walks in the area, great shower and kitchen. Cartmel village was a lovely place to explore with many pretty properties to admire and welcoming shops and eateries most of which are dog friendly. The location was great for exploring we had walks in the woods round the racecourse, to HoRead morelker's Hall including the gardens there, Hampsfell Hospice and Gummer's How. We also took a day trip to walk up Scafell. I'm sure we'll be back. Hide

The Snug was brilliant. The location just outside, but within 2 mins walk of the village was perfect. A great base to explore the lakes and then return to tranquil Cartmel for lovely relaxed evenings and all the pubs and restaurants it has to offer. We spent 3 nights in this wonderful cosy cottage. It was fabulous! Very comfortable, spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Ideally positioned within a few minutes walk into the village. Treat yourself to an amazing breakfast barm from the deli across the road. Delicious! Thoroughly recommend staying here, it was fantastic!

Lovely cottage. Very cosy. Perfect location. Stephen was great - supplied us with extra logs for log burner. Would recommend to family/friends and stay again ourselves.

Location is great 5 mins from centre of Cartmel, pig and whistle pub practically next door, convenient store a minute away and the shed across the road 14 paces from door to door to pick up a bacon butty for breakfast. ( had to be done I was on holiday) maybe in the summer lack of a decent area to sit in the back garden might be a negative, but a gRead morereat cottage and location parking was great with car pass and the owner is very helpful Hide

The cottage itself, the location and the thought put into the decor was lovely. We did enjoy our stay. It was unfortunately the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen and bathroom that spoilt it. We did think of taking photos but decided not to focus on the negatives.

A really cosy and lovely stay, would thoroughly recommend. Kitchen is well kitted out with everything you need, bathroom and bedroom are excellent, and you cant beat the location.

The cottage itself was lovely. Had everything we needed for our stay. Located right next to the pig and whistle pub was great, and only a 5 min walk to the centre of Cartmel. We would highly recommend.

Cosy cottage in the centre of a charming village. Parking permit included but no allocated parking space so sometimes difficult to get parked nearby. Facilities included a washing machine and coffee machine. Lovely log burner too.

The snug was such a gorgeous little cottage in Cartmel, easy walking distance to the village and a very convenient distance to the pig and whistle 2 doors down! It might be small but is beautifully appointed and perfect for a getaway for 2. The owner is really friendly and helpful too.
