This wonderful pod nestles in a stunning riverside position with a beautiful countryside backdrop. Set within a private enclosure next to the local pub, you have everything you need on your doorstep. This unique retreat boasts a private hot tub and fire pit, the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the local area. You can enjoy peaceful walks from the doorstep, or head south and you are in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which offers lovely old coastal towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth where you can browse the many independent shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes. Other places of interest and attractions accessible from here include The South Devon Railway, the historic naval city of Plymouth, the cathedral city of Exeter, Pennywell Farm and Haldon Forest.

Step inside the beautiful pod and you will see the brilliantly designed and very comfortable studio-style lounge/kitchen/diner/sleeping area. The lounge area features a cosy sofa and Smart TV with views overlooking the garden. This space has been well thought out and has ample room to relax and dine, perfect after exploring what South Devon has to offer during the day. The kitchen is compact yet perfectly appointed and boasts all the essentials including a two ring gas hob, combi microwave oven and fridge with an ice compartment. The sleeping area has a comfortable king-size bed and next to this you will see the well laid out shower room with WC.

Moving outside you will step on to a lovely decked area, with the River Avon next to you making it the perfect place to relax. The decking area overlooks a stunning garden area and also features your own private hot tub and fire pit, making it a great spot to spend your holiday with your favourite drink or enjoy relaxing in the Sauna (dry heat).Private off-road parking for one car is available in the car park directly outside.

We had 4 great nights here. The design and layout is excellent and exactly as it looks on the website. The spec is of the highest standard (mattress the only slight exception for us). The hot tub and sauna are easy to use and good fun. Another bonus is being so close to the pub also owned by Sue. It is very popular and serves lovely food but you arRead moree completely unaware of being so near when in and around the pod. Lovely stay, the lodge was clean and did everything we needed, hot tub was a bonus! The welcome hamper was a nice touch for the stay, meant we didnt need to go back out to the shops after the journey. Sue was amazing and helped with any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dartmoor River Retreat and would like to thank Sue and her team for making our stay so comfortable. We had a fabulous mid-week stay at this gorgeous Pod retreat deep in the South Devon countryside. Upon arrival we were shown all the amenities of the Pod, including instructions to light the wood fired hot tub. The Sauna was fantastic. We had a hamper provided which had the essentials for a nice cooked breakfast. Quiet location with only two pods on the site. Lots of places to visit nearby and dog friendly. Great choice of meals at the pub with friendly staff. We enjoyed getting away from it all for a week.

Loved it here! Not too far from local amenities yet really private and idyllic. Lovely river at the bottom of site. Lovely walks nearby, easy to reach the beach approx 25 minutes by car. Perfect for our dog as enclosed. Super clean, didnt see any dirt. Felt like a home away from home.

Lovely peaceful 3 days away. Very clean and equipped with what you need. Hot tub is amazing however need to check the temperature before getting in as can get very hot. Owners helpful and pub on the doorstep !

Excellent facilities, location and welcome from the host. Will be recommending ! Parking is easy, but if a challenge being expected to clean up all of the dog hair when its a dog-friendly cottage but we went over with a broom, our own wipes and kept him off the bed (might prove a challenge for other owners). Welcome pack appreciated - eggs, bacon, Read moremilk, a beer and a prosecco plus bread, butter and marmalade. This is an exceptional property set on well kept and secure grounds of the pub Hide

A great compact place to stay which provided a fantastic base from which to explore the area. Lovely to wake up and hear the river nearby. Sue (our host) was great , full of local knowledge and she runs a great local pub. Would definitely recommend to others.

Nice place , a bit cold even though the heater was on full , sofa uncomfortable, outside area lovely, food from pub lovely.
