This captivating property sits beside the Beaulieu River in the midst of the New Forest National Park, an ideal choice for a romantic break. Harking back to 1760, this fantastic cottage is an important part of the area’s rich past. The property is within a stone’s throw of the river, ideal for those wishing to get active with kayaking, canoeing, walking and riding on offer. Those eager to admire the views can explore the miles of New Forest beauty on your doorstep, stopping off in many pubs and cafes along the way. Get a deeper understanding of the area’s history by visiting Beaulieu Abbey 3 miles away, touring Palace House and the National Motor Museum whilst there. Alternatively, you can make the most of your positioning on the south coast with a trip to the Isle of Wight. Regular ferries are accessible from Lymington (8 miles), the amiable port town that’s just a drive away.

Although the listed building is over 250 years old, the interior has been pleasantly updated to create a contemporary and comfortable place for two guests to stay. Wander up the path and into the detached holiday home. You’re instantly greeted by a modern kitchen with all of the appliances necessary to create delicious meals, and one step up from here leads into the adjacent bathroom. Back through the kitchen, reach a charming double bedroom with handsome lancet windows. The lounge/diner, also accessible via the kitchen, runs the length of the property and is yours to relax in on every evening. Find a Smart TV, Bluetooth radio and the wood burner effect electric fire next to plenty of comfy seating.

Head out from the lounge or kitchen into the enclosed garden, where a table and chairs provide the perfect space to enjoy a relaxed breakfast or evening drinks. The garden wraps around the property and has a covered seating area to the front, which has wonderful views of the river. An unenclosed pond sits to the side of the property (care to be taken with children and dogs) and there’s an external utility room that houses a freezer, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
