Set in the peaceful hamlet of Twyford, within the heart of the Herefordshire countryside where you can enjoy a wealth of walking from your front door, there are 36 acres of grounds of which you are free to explore along with a network of pathways. Also, within easy reach the Wye Valley Way, Offa’s Dyke and the Forest of Dean. For cyclists you can enjoy the country lanes or venture into the Forest for a slightly more challenging terrain. And in summertime why not hire a canoe and take time to enjoy the River. A trip to one of the many market towns is a must where you can pick up local produce from a farmers market or browse the independent shops, Hay-on-Wye is famed for books and the annual international literary festival and the market towns of Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Leominster all welcome you with an eclectic range of independent shops.

You’ll enjoy the drive through the pretty Herefordshire hamlet before arriving at the shepherd’s hut, peacefully secluded within the fringes of a mature meadow enjoying the shade of trees that blossom in the springtime. The hut sits to the rear with wooden steps up to the front door. Step inside and back in time, the interior has been finished in keeping of times gone by with simple cladded walls and picture windows. There is a wood burner with logs to keep you warm in the cooler months, a kitchen area with electric hob, small fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. A folding down oak table with 2 stools. A double bed and a spacious shower and WC.

Outside the area has been enclosed and offers a private hot tub where you can relax and stargaze. There is also a gas BBQ and table and chairs for supper outdoors. There is a storage shed that is suitable for bikes and off-road parking for one car. Guests can also book in advance a private yoga class at the farmhouse, see the need to know.

The shepherds hut was perfect. It was in an isolated space, the hot tub was amazing, and even though we went at the end of November the hut didnt get that cold at all. Overall had an amazing, peaceful time. Would 100% recommend.

We stayed in the shepherds for three nights and my husband and I had an amazing time. Good communication with the owners and they were very approachable. The host made sure that we are ok on the day of an arrival and warmly welcomed us. It was super cosy and hot tub is an added treat. We stayed in the shepherd's hut and all I can say is what a beautiful property, rolling hills and our own private meadow to wonder in and right at the top you can look back over Hereford. All throughout the day all we could hear was the birds, this is by far the most peaceful place I've ever stayed. Absolutely beautiful there are no faults to report. The owners communication was effective and even went and put the light on at the hut for when we arrived late and it was dark, made sure we were happy with everything and assured us to contact if we needed anything. Definitely would return

Lovely stay with our dog. The garden isnt fully enclosed but we have a long line so it wasnt an issue. The hut has everything you need and is very cosy. The garden is lovely with amazing views and the hot tub was excellent. There are great walks nearby as well as a secure field which is about a 20 minute drive away so our dog could have some time oRead moreff lead. Would highly recommend. Hide

A lovely peaceful retreat in gorgeous country side. Melissa and Richmond were on hand if needed but left us alone to enjoy our holiday. For a complete no frills peaceful getaway would highly recommend.

This was the perfect weekend away which was much needed. The location is perfectly private giving you a wonderful view of the local farm and wildlife. The hut has everything required for a home from home feeling and the hot tub is an added treat.

The owners greeted us on arrival and gave us friendly advice on use of the facilities and nearby amenities/locations. We struggled initially to light the log burner and the owners were very quick to help. They also brought round candles and offered to charge appliances when the area experienced a power cut.
