Only 11.5 miles away, the spa town of Harrogate is a must-visit for a Betty's cup of tea and spot of window shopping. For a unique dining experience, the Michelin-starred Yorke Arms is 13 miles away and offers the finest haute-cuisine.

Inside this charming property, a warm welcome awaits. Step into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and be treated to a lovely hamper brimming with goodies. Tuck straight into your delicious treats or save them for later, the choice is yours. With soothing, neutral tones, the main living area has both a relaxing and convivial feel. At one end of the space, a comfortable sofa, dining table for two and TV/DVD provide comfort throughout the day. Look out over the fantastic country views or settle down with your favourite book, accompanied by a mug of steaming hot tea or glass of something crisp and cool. This end of the property also has access to the bedroom. Heading through a door, you will find a cosy room with a full king-size bed. At the opposite end of the open-plan layout, a cute and compact kitchen has everything you could need for culinary bliss, including a gas hob, oven/grill and dishwasher. Separated by a dividing wall, this end of the property also houses the bathroom, with WC and walk-in shower.

We had a wonderful week staying at Brown Hare Cottage with our border terrier, Ollie. We visited Ripon which has everything you need and the cathedral is beautiful. Hackfall was tricky but so well worth seeing. Brimham Rocks are just so different and interesting also a nice easy walk for those with dodgy joints! Brown Hare Cottage was a beautiful bungalow cottage for the two of us and our dog. The cottage was spotless and well equipped. Albeit the cottage did not have a log burner, at no stage was it cold, actually it was very snug. Apart from the bedroom and bathroom, which were separate, the rest of the cottage is open plan, with amazing views. The cottaRead morege has a small garden at the front accessed from the drive. A small comfortable and very cosy cottage, with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The views out to the front were lovely and although out in the countryside, very close to shops etc in Ripon. The owners were lovely and helpful.

A lovely well equipped cottage in a great location. A real home from home. Hosts are welcoming too and the gift of flowers and a delicious home made cake was a lovely extra touch. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage, the welcome pack was very thoughtful and appreciated. As a location for a holiday it was ideal for me as I was visiting friends in the area and the closeness to Fountains/Studley was perfect given I have a dog. I would definitely return.

Loved our stay in this beautiful cottage. The field opposite was full of sheep and lambs, and watching them was a complete joy. We visited Fountains Abbey, Ripon Cathedral, Brimham Rocks and the folk musuem at Pately Bridge. The welcome basket and lemon cake were much appreciated. Thank you, Val for a lovely stay.

If you're in need of relaxation this pretty and cosy little cottage with its stunning views and quiet location is the place for you. Just back from a New Years break in this lovely cosy cottage, it had everything you needed, the views were beautiful as we sat having breakfast each morning, Val the owner who was lovely left us an amazing welcome pack , the best we have ever had, The walk to Fountains Abbey is a must, 2 different walks to get there, 1 through fields and the other Read moredown a valley, we had a ride out to Middleham and Leyburn which also has lovely walks to do, overall we had a great time.
